The Aquilant sponsored Stoke ERCP Symposium, held between 27-28th April 2017 at the Stoke-on-Trent Moat House, was once again hailed as a great success, thanks to a combination of expert faculty, interactive lectures and state of the art live case discussions. The UK ERCP community was very well represented with over 100 delegates in attendance, all of whom agreed that the event will be a key date in their future diaries.
Chaired by Dr. Jonathan Green from the Royal Stoke University Hospital, and including Course Directors Mark Deakin from the same hospital and Dr. Nageshwar Reddy from the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad, the symposium incorporated a range of topics including advances in hepatobiliary endoscopy, ERCP in acute and chronic pancreatitis and EUS as an adjunct to patients having ERCP. With the added involvement of a faculty including Ross Carter (Glasgow), Manu Nayar (Newcastle), Srisha Hebbar (Stoke) and Terry Wong (London) to name a few, the two days provided delegates with a rare opportunity to share experiences and discuss techniques with the expert faculty present and audience of fellow ERCP specialists.
Dr Jonathan Green from the Stoke Royal University Hospital explains: “We were very fortunate to have such a strong faculty in attendance and in particular were delighted that Dr Nageshwar Reddy was able to accept our invitation to attend the meeting to share his experiences. The live link from his unit at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad was phenomenal. Events like this require a huge amount of behind the scenes investment and organisation, but the opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practice gives the event incredible educational value”
Matt Aronow, Marketing Manager for Aquilant Endoscopy, adds: “It is fantastic to hear such positive feedback about the Symposium from the attendees. Delegates clearly value the specialist nature of the meeting, with 100% saying that they found it incredibly valuable and would be recommending it to colleagues. We look forward to building on this success for future events.
